Happy All Saints Day

Let me do some housekeeping first before I recap my super fun weekend.

Last month I didn’t set any healthy goals for myself and therefore did NOTHING. I didn’t work out, I eat a lotta junk food left and right, and was in a mad funk bc of that dern class. So for November I’m going to turn it up a notch from September do the following: I want to get in three sessions of hard pumpin’ cardio in a week in addition to making TWO vegetarian dinners a week. And, while it may not seem like a lot, it’d be awesome if I could drop 2lbs at the end of the month. It’s not much, but seeing as I’m 5’2, two pounds can pretty much, make my day and make my pants fit better, haha.  Oh, and since last month I was obsessed with pumpkin recipes, this month’s featured ingredient will be cranberries! So look out for those, ’cause you know I’m a baking fiend!

Back to the fun: So Friday night, I went on a date night with Ale to Bertucci’s, which was DELICIOUS!! We had an artichoke dip to start with green salad and chorizo soup (what? we were hungry!) For dinner, Ale had chicken parm which was HUGE and I had salmon fillet on a bed of sautéed spinach.  Yum, yum, YUM!

Oh and we also stopped by Borders to pick up Ina Garten’s new book, How Easy Is That?. We drooled over the beautiful pictures and scrumptious sounding recipes while waiting for our table.  As I would flip through the pages, Ale was would say, “Ooh! Make me that! Ooh! Make me that too! Holy balls! Everything sounds AMAZING!”

Needless to say, we’re BOTH excited about this book.  In fact, we have a Barefoot Contessa potluck evening planned for later this month with two of Ale’s college roomies and their wives. We’re all going to make a BC recipe to share. How fun does that sound?

On Saturday we went to a wedding in Baltimore which was wicked fun, haha. There were cute touches of Halloween without being too kitschy.

Lovely Gothic church

Jack-o-lantern centerpieces!

Getting down with our bad selves

Photobooth!

Ice freakin' sculptures! The groom's dad made 'em!

The wedding reception was most certainly good times; the dj was great! I was on the dance floor with my girls the whole night, working off those Sam Adams Octoberfests I had, 😛 All I can say is, thank goodness for spanx!

How’d you spend your Halloween weekend?

I’m going to be a total copycat and go buy that recipe book!

Ina is one of my favorite Food Network personalities. She’s smart and interesting without being over the top. (coughRACHELRAYcoughcough)

The wedding sounds like it was a blast!!! Especially on Halloween weekend.

That wedding looks like it was so nice! I love the pumpkins, and those ice sculptures are super impressive.
