TGIF

LONG WEEK! First time I worked five days in a row in FOREVER. I managed to go all of January without doing so which is sort of impressive and yet not because I did not have fun most of those days off.  Um, so snow has been ruining most people’s lives and that’s not cool. And I’m sure you’re amidst winter funk ANYWAY, so here’s my cheerful TGIF:

If that doesn’t make you smile, I can’t help you.

Oh, and here’s 9 Easy Ways to be Happier (from Real Simple Magazine) One of them in particular reminds me of a funny story:

#7 Limit Your Options-“When you make a choice, you generally want the best,” says psychologist Barry Schwartz. “That means you tend to consider everything that’s available, which can be overwhelming.” Not to mention stressful and anxiety producing. Whenever you find yourself paralyzed by indecision, whether you’re shopping for a new car or a new nail-polish color, quickly try to whittle down your options to a few choices. Then pick one and move on.

When I need Ale’s help in deciding something, I ask him, quite literally “A, B, or C.”  Without knowing what the letters stand for, he picks one.  For instance, what should we have for dinner? Mexican, Chinese, or Italian? If I named those options, I’d get a “I dunno, you pick,” which infuriates me to no end.  So to avoid that vicious cycle of “Oh whatever you want,” I narrow down choices to two or three, he blindly picks one, and we move on with our lives. Such is how we operate; it works for us 😛

HAPPY WEEKEND!

Every. Single. Night. We have the dinner fight.
“What do you want” — “I don’t care” — “I don’t know how to make ‘I don’t care’ and probably don’t have the ingredients”

I love your solution to this!! Using that method from now on.

    Happy Friday my friend. 🙂

We’ve started planning our dinners ahead of time just because we always fall into that trap of “I don’t know, what do YOU want?” otherwise!
